The Lely Vector, our automated feeding system, is designed to give every animal group access to a fresh and precisely mixed ration based on their needs. It consists of two parts: the mixing and feeding robot and the feed kitchen, where the feed is stored, selected, and loaded. It's the unique combination of mixing feed, feeding cows based on their needs, and always pushing the feed at the feed fence that saves you valuable, effective time. Thanks to the pushing technology on two sides of the robot, the feed is always within reach of your cows. The Vector allows you to adjust and optimize the feeding strategy, which can lead to better milk yield and healthier cows.

Features of the automatic feeding system

Feed height sensor
The mixing and feeding robot scans the feed level at the feed fence. Using this data, the Vector knows exactly when it's time for a new feeding round and enables on-demand feeding. This ensures 24/7 availability of fresh feed.

Rotating skirt
The skirt pushes the feed to the feed fence, so that the feed is always within reach of the cows.

Stainless steel mortar
The stainless steel auger mixes each ration into a homogeneous mixture and the powerful auger motor ensures that no feed remains on the auger after distribution;

Navigation system
From ultrasonic sensors to inductive sensors, the Lely Vector offers reliable technology that ensures a flexible way of navigating the farm.

Magnet
Three powerful magnets are placed beneath the feed opening. As the robot distributes the feed, it falls down next to the magnet. Any metal particles in the feed stick to the magnet, reducing the risk of sharp metal particles entering the cows' stomachs.

Automatic counter knife (counter knife)
Based on the ration settings, the counterblade is automatically activated. The longer the particle length of the feed material, the longer the counterblade remains in the hopper. This stimulates cutting behavior and enables a homogeneous mix.

Powerful drivetrain
The Lely Vector comes with a powerful drivetrain and a powerful feeding and mixing robot that can handle slopes of up to 8%. This is useful if you live in a hilly area or if your barn entrance is on a slope.
